Thursday, ksc landed li'l minty on the surface of minimus to see if it is indeed ice cream. ksc described the probe as a kind of a taste tester, but mission controller Gene kerman said, "were all exited for bob's mission: preparing the ice cream party. above: li'l minty landed on the surface of minimus.

Tuesday jeb kerman was the first to set foot on the mun ksc reported the news very excitedly, probably thinking about all those nice samples. but the one who seems to have the most fun is jeb himself. jeb was performing a "science" experiment when after a large grunt he raidioed: "hole in one!" the baggage crew does remember jeb wanting golf equipment in his food drawer. jeb also radioed something about the mun being a great golf resort but... with a lack of snacks. above: jeb's golf outing on the mun. below: jeb glad to be landed. ( left, "good boy" rover )
bob kerman was congratulated as the first kerbal to visit minumus on his 23 day mission to the icy world. bob kerman went on an eva and and later said in an interview that: "I wish I could have tasted it" bob recalled. ksc is planing very big news: sending jeb to the mun. ksc is very exited, saying that jeb can find out if the top scientists are indeed correct about the mun being made out of crushed oreos. going in circles: bob kerman on eva wearing his new mint blue suit.
Sunday, ksc launched minimus explorer 1 which was the first kerbal made thing to reach orbit of minimus. the probe saw the moon dreamed about by young kerbals as a wonderland of mint ice cream, only to be ice. this disappointed most adults too. the spacecraft sent back stunning photos of the icy moon.
Thursday: ksc has reported that bob and jeb have docked in orbit of the mun and have advanced knowledge, completed a contract, and finally persuaded investors. jeb told ksc that "bob was totally calm and didn't say much" even though bob had been stranded on the mun for a very long time. the crew are scheduled to return Sunday. bob completely calm in orbit of the mun.
Sunday: ksc has landed a small lander on the mun in the north part of large east crater. ksc has had some failed missions involving landing thrusters not firing, ksc then found the problem and replaced the faulty ones with four sturdy docking thrusters made by some dude in his garage. once landed, the lander then gathered data to resolve the controversial question of whether or not the mun has an atmosphere. above: dusty lander in east crater with the crater rim in background.
Tuesday, history was made as ksc has landed a spacecraft on the mun to find out what mystery goo does on the mun. it landed just east of "the big crater in the midlands where it has communication with kerbin and sun light for a its solar panels. it has provided never seen before data from the surface of the mun. ksc is planing to launch another one of these to the north pole of the mun. above: the little dusty lander on the surface of the mun.
Tuesday, bob kerman launched in a modified crew orbit rocket up to dock with a satellite carrying experiments that it couldn't return. so, after docking bob kerman went on an Eva to get the science onto his ship. mr.kerman recalls the experience as, "beautifully-horrifying" saying he was UN-TEATHERD to his ship, which is clearly against kerbnaout safety guidelines. later, he somehow returned to kerbin even after almost not having enough fuel to de-orbit, and almost running out of battery, he landed in the ocean just south of the great kraken desert. the next big misson ksc is working hard to get a rocket for: "the small dusty mission" (landing on the mun) above: bob kerman glad that he's alive after being the first kerbnauot ever to dock.
on Sunday ksc launched a rocket to the mun carrying a orbiter and a return capsule. the space craft arrived on Monday and orbited to conduct experiments such as recording temperature, and seeing what mystery goo does near the mun. after a few orbits the return capsule started its return trip, it boosted away from the mun, and back towards ksc, where the scientists are greenly looking at the experiments. the orbiter has no propulsion system, and will stay in orbit of the mun and serve as a relay satellite, relaying signals for future landers on the dark side of the mun. during asembaly: on top is the orbiter, and on the bottom is the return capsule. above: orbiter in orbit of the mun (kerbin in background)
THE KT CREW ASKED THE KERBNAUTS AT KSC SOME QUESTIONS, HERE'S THE FULL INTERVIEW: BOB: YOU'VE BEEN STRANDED VALENTINA: YOU HAVEN'T BILL: AS AN ENGINEER HOW ON THE MUN FOR LIKE A YEAR, FLOWN ANY MISSIONS, THRILLED ARE YOU TO GET HOW WILL YOU AVOID THAT HOW DO YOU FEEL TO BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO IN FUTURE MISSIONS? ABOUT THAT? FLY TO ORBIT? MAKE SURE THERE'S A RESCUE WELL, KSC HAS TO ITS DEFINITELY A BIG PRIVILEGE SHIP, AND READ THE TINY KEEP ME AROUND SO AND A HUGE RISK SO I'M JUST PACKING PRINT ON THE JOB APPLICATION, I CAN SAVE BOB WHEN AN ASPIRIN AND A HAMMER AND WHEN HE GETS STUCK. HOPING EVERY THING GOES FINE. JEDIDIAH: SINCE YOU'RE THE STAR KERBNAUT WHAT DO THE OTHERS THINK OF YOU? WELL PRETTY MUCH AS THE SNOB IN THE V8 KERBIN MARTIN WHO DOESN'T SCREAM WHEN SITTING ON THE PAD WITH 3 HOURS TILL LAUNCH. KERBNAUT PHOTO FROM FAR LEFT: BOB .K, VALENTINA .K, BILL .K, JEB .K
